If Gamu can do this to "Walking On Sunshine" what could she do to other great classic songs: to I will survive - or in film to Goldfinger - for the dance hall to We gotta good thing going - or to Nobody Does it Better - or to Beat It or to Police and Thieves - or to Breakfast in Bed.- or in fact to any classic of any genre!

- this was more akin to an exiled lyrical Princess returning to take her throne (or to do AN AUDIENCE WITH . . . )  rather than an 18 year old student at an audition.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear of other contestants leaving early rather than embarrass themselves trying to match her.

- well did you see the crowds reactions and the smiles

- you dont auto tune smiles!

- that Glasgow crowd were whipped wooed and whoaho-ed into a frenzy!

- A quarter of a million hits on you tube in first 36 hours

- ITV website slowed as it struggled to cope with the hits for episode 1

auto tuned or not - we here don't care:

at 35-42 seconds the crowd were only willing her to do well and sighing for her as she was doing well

by 51 seconds the crowd knew she was more than good

after 1 minute and 11 seconds they knew she was more than exceptional

and by 1 minute 28 seconds they were applauding her as one of the greatest.

ONE THING I'D LIKE TO KNOW IS - WHO IS THE WOMAN WITH THE PINK FLOWER IN HER HAIR AT 39-42 seconds BECAUSE I WANNA SAY    WOW  and          "Hiiiiiiiiya"

Welcome!

For all that is dominoes and for all that is rolling.

ASKS THE QUESTIONS!

3rd October 2010

Is Cheryl out of her head? Is Simon considering her ability to judge ? Are the producers pulling the wool over our eyes and the rugs from under the judges?

And were we right about Gamu's quality and Cheryl's inferiority a few weeks ago when we asked the first X Factor question ?

Id say so

More than likely

There's not too much doubt about the rug

and

Yeah we think we were and still are right !

Our current editorial directive on this is to reiterate our first opinions. That which was expressed only hours after the first screening of Gamu's first X Factor audition.

You see primarily speaking all what has happened to and around Gamu means that her X Factor has been well and truly inscribed in to the history of showbusiness. Moreover, we shouldn't be forgettting the wee girl can sing a bit too.

You don't win an X Factor you either always have it or work damned hard for it

you do not have to win the X Factor to have "The X-FACTOR"; basically either you always have it or you work damned hard to attain it, we think Gamu is both determined and blessed.(rollingdominoes.com editor) she got things rolling!

25th September 2010

HAS GAMU NHENGU THE GIRL WITH THE FLOWER IN HER HAIR ALREADY WON THE X FACTOR?

Many already think so and rollling dominoes knows.

Here is our opinion:

YES GAMU NHENGU has won it already!

A LOVE SONG?

Whether Gamu is voted up to win it or not; in her words in a way she has won it: "I want to get on that stage and I want everybody to leave Glasgow and think the girl with the flower in her hair "she was great"  thats all I want. " Aside of this little allegory, for sure we may well have seen the winner in the very first X FACTOR episode of series seven.

His words notably involuntarily slowing  as he finished his question,

"I'm intrigued to hear what you've done with this song?"

Her words and  borrowed words provided her with a powerful yet sweet and succint reply . . .

and by now; you the reader may know the rest .

When Simon raised his hand to call Gamu's audition to a halt that was timed at 1 min 45 secs - remember this point. - Gamu's version of Walking on Sunshine is a hit.

Your My Sunshine but You Gotta Go will no doubt in years to come be covered by countless auditionees and other stars . Probably no one from this or any previous series will be as remembered as she will become. Gamu  we believe is set to be like Susan Boyle to the power of 10 and then way way beyond Bassey Ross Summer Simon Houston Turner or Carey  or any other.

All this said is not to take anything away from the other stars so far: Katie Waisals "At Last" did remind us that there will be determined other genius performers ready to battle but Gamu's first impressions could very well give her the confidence and favour to carry her through.

For probably the first time we think the judges were scared to say too much; did any of them feel worthy to judge her ?Instead they all were astute and intuitive knowing full well that it was they who were priveleged to be in her company and it is they who will be judged on their handling of this amazing singer.

Simon thought of many things when the music started up yet by the end only one thing  he was thinking of for sure: signing Gamu  quickly and releasing that single of hers.

When Simon raised his hand to call Gamu's audition to a halt that was timed at 1 min 45 secs from when she started singing.

 He was thinking

- no way is the full version going out on you tube yet !

- Louis is'nt signing her I am!

- Theres no way Cheryl and Geri are fit to judge this kind of talent. And I could learn to love this tune again, that was timed at 1 min 45 secs from when she started singing - the point is this by 1 min 45 secs Simon by then assumed and knew the country was in love with her.

VERSION GIRL

Gamu, she just done Jazz Pop Rock and Soul and more all with her own version of a loved and classsic song; moreover, in her own inimitable style, in 1 min and 45 secs. Now it might just be irony that Girl Power Geri was there to witness this performance because it was also undeniably girl power: "You're my sunshine whoaho but you gotta go . . " and all that considered together in 1 min 45 seconds means it was also, in in a very canny canny way so beautifully punk.

Not many can produce 1 min 45 secs that hits you between the eyes and for all those cyber comment board stalkers who complain that auto tuning was used

- well did you see the crowds reactions and the smiles

- you dont auto tune smiles!

- that Glasgow crowd were whoaho-ed into a frenzy!

- A quarter of a million hits on you tube in first 36 hours

- ITV website slowed as it struggled to cope with the hits for episode 1 auditions

Another thing you cannot auto tune is a performers sighs and smiles when they know they have just nailed a perfect note tune or melody you dont auto tune that and we've watched the video several times now

- this was more akin to an exiled Princess returning to take her throne rather than an 18 year old student at an audition. I wouldn't be surprised to hear of other contestants leaving early rather than embarrass themselves trying to match her.

Every now and then a voice comes along that reminds us all that there is indeed a heaven.

the final opinion is from my accountant Mr Happy,"Any bookmaker not reducing the odds of Gamu winning the X-FACTOR is either daft or on the fiddle."
